We have started a Foster Program for equine that the sanctuary may rescue in the future. If you would like to be considered as a foster for Grey Oaks Equine Sanctuary (GOES) please fill out the attached form, if you would rather contact the sanctuary please feel free to do so and we will try our best to answer your questions.
That you love animals and have the time and resources to provide a foster equine with adequate care. We require all equine foster homes that are new to horses to attend a basic one on one horsemanship class, and may set up supplemental training so proper handling techniques can be assured. Fencing must be a minimum of 4 feet high. Other requirements will vary depending upon the specific Foster Agreement needs of a given foster equine. Some animals, for example, will need a dedicated stall, dry lot, or extra time commitments (as is the case with an emaciated or sick equine, isolation from other equidae, etc. We make every effort to match foster homes with an appropriate foster animal.
What am I required to provide as a foster?
Most importantly TLC and emotional support.
